Dr. Ebrahim Delpassand is the Chairman and Medical Director of Excel Diagnostics and Nuclear Oncology Center. He holds an academic position as Clinical Professor in Radiation Oncology, at the University of Texas, Medical Branch. He completed his residency training in Nuclear Medicine, and Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1991. He is Board certified in Nuclear Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Delpassand is the former deputy chairman, associate professor, and chief of clinical nuclear medicine at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His prestigious credentials and extensive experience include the disciplines of therapeutic nuclear medicine, Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT), nuclear cardiology, monoclonal antibody imaging, and positron emission tomography (PET). Dr. Delpassand is the principle Investigator of multiple Investigational New Drug (IND) applications in the areas of diagnostic and Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine authorized by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Azar Delpassand, RN, BSN
Mrs. Delpassand has over 25 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur in the healthcare industry. She has hold various leadership positions in healthcare industry. Her first priority has been to professionally balance family and business. Her continued success is based on a constant need and desire that responsibility begins at home and in order to lead outside, you must lead and feed your family’s needs first. Discipline, structure, moral values, belief and faith are the attributes that drive her daily walk toward being accountable to all she serves. Presently she is the President of Excel Diagnostics and Nuclear Oncology Center which she co-founded in 2003 as a premier outpatient Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine imaging, wellness and treatment center and staffs over 50 employees. She most recently co-founded Westchase Clinical Associates in 2014, an oncology practice, bringing in holistic approaches to bridge the gap between treatment and healing, and a primary care practice, offering enhanced services of anti-aging and wellness. In 2004, she co-founded RITA Foundation, and is President of the non-profit organization developed to support goals in both clinical and research area to fight against cancer. She is also a co-founder of Radiomedix, a clinical stage biotechnology company in 2006 with focus on development and marketing of new targeted radioactive diagnostic and therapeutic agents. She currently serves as a member of the board of directors. Formerly, she has been a founder and co-founder for three additional healthcare start-ups, including Healix Infusion therapy, Infinity Infusion Care, and Infinity Care, Inc. Infinity Infusion care was named as one of the 100 fastest growing businesses in Houston in 1997 and the company was highlighted in the Houston Business Journal in the top 25 in Houston and top 50 in the state of Texas. During her term as the President and CEO in both Infinity Infusion Care and Infinity Care, Inc. her company, Infinity Care, Inc. was featured as a Joint Commission and Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) sample company recognized for their highly superior standards of quality in medical facilities control and ethics. Other outstanding achievements and expertise she shared with the community involve serving on the Board of Directors for the University of St. Thomas and Houston Symphony in 2012 to 2015. She also was recognized for her service of more than 200 Heroes for Heart Ball supporters when she opened her home to help the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Delpassand’s three beautiful daughters are not far in following their mother’s footsteps. Her oldest, Nahal, will complete her doctorate in psychology ,this May, 2016. She, is currently, at Emory University in Atlanta, GA completing her residency at the Counseling and Psychological Services center. Alia is nearing completion of her second year in law school at Pepperdine University, located in Malibu, California and has accepted an internship with the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC focusing on mediation and conflict resolution and Ayda, is completing her Master of Science in Global Medicine at the University of Southern California, to forge new methods of finding innovative solutions for prevention of global health crisis.
Mrs. Delpassand’s hobbies include cooking, biking, dancing and traveling. She is an excellent domestic chef who cooks from recipes dating back to her Persian heritage taught to her by her grandmother and enjoys sharing her flavorful gifts to the office for holiday functions and employee appreciations.
She is married to Ebrahim Delpassand, MD, who was the prior chief of the Nuclear Medicine Department at MD Anderson and who is the founder of Infinity Care/Infinity Infusion Care, Excel Diagnostics and Nuclear Oncology Center, Radiomedix, and RITA Foundation. He has authored more than 50 peer reviewed manuscripts in the field of Nuclear Medicine and lectured in National and International meetings on Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine, PET, and monoclonal antibody imaging. He also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, RITA Foundation, and as the member of advisory boards of the University of St. Thomas, Biogen-Idec, Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals, Southwest Bank of Texas (currently Amegy Bank) and Sterling Bank.
Director of Operations
Nasrin Hakim is director of operations at excel Diagnostics & Nuclear Oncology Center, she completed her bachelor degree in business administration and accounting. She has over 15 years of management and HR experience and has been working in Houston since 1984.
Accounting Dept. Controller
Al Lalani joined Excel’s family in May of 2005. He has a post baccalaureate in Internal Auditing from University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from San Jose State University, California. Al brings to Excel entrepreneur experience, ethics and integrity. His current position in the organization is Controller of the Accounting Department.
Billing & Collections Director
Jason Anderson is the Billing & Collections Director for Excel Diagnostics Nuclear & Oncology Center. He has over 10 years experience in Medical Billing & Collections. His expertise ranges but is not limited to Insurance Collections, Verifications, Billing, Coding and Manage Care. His knowledge helps Excel keep up with the ever changing evolution of the Healthcare Industry. He is a family man and is the proud father of 3 children.
